The circumstances of a person's death can, many times, leave so many unanswered questions. The extent of inquiry into a person's death varies depending on a number of factors to include the findings of medical personnel, the coroner's office and possibly, at times, an involved law enforcement agency. Many times there remains unresolved issues that may leave doubt as to why a person died or there is information that exists that is contrary to the findings of the involved agencies.

Initial Consultation Prior to agreeing upon the necessity of a more detailed investigation, R. Gordon McDonald and Associates will first conduct an initial consultation with prospective clients to determine if there are sufficient facts or information that would justify a further investigation. Prospective clients will receive an honest and objective recommendation as to the appropriateness of further investigation.

Complete Case Review Once a case is accepted, our agency will conduct a complete review of all available information regarding the circumstances of the questioned death. This could include all medical charts, coroner's reports and law enforcement reports. This procedure should help determine the basis of the original findings regarding the death. When the information suggests that the findings were based upon incomplete or possibly inaccurate procedures our agency will recommend specific needs for further investigation.
